KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Committee on Education, Health, and Information Technology has instructed the government to hold dialogue with the protesting Gen Z generation.

The directive was issued during the committee’s meeting on Monday.

Committee Chair Amar Bahadur Thapa stated that the panel also urged all protesting youth to express their demands peacefully and in a restrained manner, while advising the Home Administration to exercise caution and maintain high vigilance during the demonstrations.

Additionally, the committee has directed the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to present factual updates regarding social media at its upcoming session.

Chair Thapa emphasized the need for the government to address the issues raised by the Gen Z movement, which has contributed to heightened tensions in the Baneshwor area of Kathmandu on Monday.
