‘Paral Ko Aago’ opens strong, crosses Rs 1 crore in just two days

KATHMANDU: The film Paral Ko Aago, which hit theatres last Friday, has recorded a promising start at the domestic box office, according to its producers.

The production team claims the film collected around Rs 40 lakh on its opening day, followed by more than Rs 60 lakh on Saturday.
On its first day, the film achieved an occupancy rate of around 30 percent across the country.
Major cities including Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Butwal witnessed strong audience turnout, with several morning shows running at near full capacity.
Positive word of mouth from early viewers reportedly boosted attendance for later screenings.
By Saturday, the film’s nationwide occupancy had increased to over 50 percent, reflecting growing audience interest.
Following the release, the film’s cast and crew have been actively engaging with audiences by visiting theatres across Kathmandu and other cities.
During a recent visit to Astanarayan Hall in Bajal, lead actors Prakash Saput and Suhana Thapa drew large crowds, creating heavy traffic congestion in the area. Around 1,000 viewers attended the screening at the venue.
Expressing her happiness over the audience response, actress Suhana Thapa shared her experience with journalists, highlighting the emotional impact of her character Gauthali. “A mother came to me after watching the film and asked how I could endure such a situation. That single reaction is enough to satisfy me,” she said.
Directed by Laxman Sunar, Paralko Aago features Prakash Saput, Suhana Thapa, Saugat Malla, Sirjana Adhikari, Shankar Acharya, Jack Shrestha, Kishor Bhattarai, Sarita Bhattarai, and Manjila Baniya among others.
The film’s story, screenplay, and dialogue are written by Sushil Devkota, and it centers around the theme of marital conflict.
