‘Paral Ko Aago’ blazes past Rs 40 million, becomes 2026’s first Nepali box office hit
The film surpassed the figure by Saturday, according to official box office data released by producer Sushil Pokharel.
KATHMANDU: Movie Paral Ko Aago has crossed the Rs 40 million mark at the domestic box office within two weeks of release, becoming the first Nepali movie this year to achieve the milestone.
The film surpassed the figure by Saturday, according to official box office data released by producer Sushil Pokharel.
As per the Cinepa box office report shared by Pokharel, the film earned a gross collection of Rs 40,009,066 by May 9.
After tax deductions, its net collection stands at Rs 34,855,744. During the period, the movie sold a total of 143,570 tickets nationwide.
The film appears to have benefited significantly from its solo release window, as no other films hit theatres during its second week.
However, from this Friday onward, three new films were released simultaneously, resulting in nearly 80 percent of its shows being cut.
Despite the reduced screenings, Pokharel said the movie still earned over Rs 1.1 million on Saturday alone.
The success of Paral Ko Aago has brought major relief to actors Prakash Saput and Suhana Thapa.
Following the success of Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi, Prakash had faced five consecutive box office failures, raising concerns over his career trajectory.
Suhana, too, had struggled after the poor performance of her previous film Bhagavat Geeta.
With its strong box office run, Paral Ko Aago has emerged as a much-needed comeback for both stars.
