KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Padma Aryal has demanded that Prime Minister Balen Shah appear in Parliament and issue a formal apology over his recent controversial remarks.
Speaking to journalists after an opposition parties’ meeting, Aryal said the Prime Minister’s statement was deeply offensive and harmful to national dignity.
“The Prime Minister’s expression has lowered the pride of all of us. It is highly condemnable. He should take back his objectionable and nation-harming remarks with a sincere apology, taking an oath to the country. We will raise this issue in Parliament,” she said.
She further stated that the opposition’s next steps will depend on how the Speaker manages the issue in the House in the coming days.
