Oli urges party unity amidst nation’s challenges

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has emphasized that the party bears extraordinary responsibility on its shoulders during the country’s difficult times.
Addressing the first meeting of the newly elected Central Committee after the party’s 11th General Convention today, Oli called on members to carry out their duties with loyalty and enthusiasm.
Highlighting the grandeur and overall success of the 11th General Convention, Oli acknowledged that some issues had arisen within the party but stressed that members must ensure such weaknesses do not reappear in the future.
“Our voice must be unified. We will move forward according to the policies passed by the Second Statutory Convention. We will act in rhythm, not in chaos or discord,” Oli said.
He urged party members not to air internal disagreements in public media, but instead present any concerns or disagreements to the leadership either verbally or in writing. “Discipline is essential as social beings. As a leading political party, and especially as the vanguard, UML must maintain firm discipline. We must all remain consciously responsible for this,” he added.
Oli dismissed rumors and misconceptions about the party, asserting that UML is not an undisciplined organization that acts recklessly.
“We will not allow personal agendas to override collective interests. Party meetings will now be conducted with strict discipline,” he said.
Affirming that there are no factions or panels within UML, Oli called for unity and collective progress.
Noting the nation’s current challenges, he stated that UML will play a central role in steering the country towards a smoother path.
