No election on March 5: Prasai
Speaking on Saturday, Prasai alleged that the current government is no different from past administrations in terms of corruption.
KATHMANDU: Businessman Durga Prasai has claimed that the scheduled election on Falgun 21 (March 5) will not take place.
Speaking on Saturday, Prasai alleged that the current government is no different from past administrations in terms of corruption.
Prasai accused those in power of belonging to the “same corrupt circle,” arguing that the leadership has failed to uphold integrity.
He also criticized Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki, claiming she had encroached on government land while presenting herself as an anti-corruption leader.
“There will be no election. It is clear that the election will not happen,” Prasai said. “Those leading the government today belong to the same group as before. They are no different. The interim prime minister herself has encroached on state land. What kind of anti-corruption leadership is that? I have never engaged in any irregularities.”
Prasai announced that he will meet Prime Minister Karki on Mangsir 22 (Dec 8) to present his demands.
He said he is only “half confident” that the government will address them even after the talks, warning that protests will follow if their demands remain unmet.
He insisted that none of his demands were unjustified.
