NEPSE rises 4.83 points as turnover dips to Rs 4.18B

Among the listed companies, 101 posted gains, 149 declined, and one remained unchanged.

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) gained 4.83 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,766.09.

However, overall market turnover dropped sharply, declining by over Rs 1.5 billion. Total transactions stood at Rs 4.18 billion, compared to Rs 5.75 billion on Monday.

Among the listed companies, 101 posted gains, 149 declined, and one remained unchanged.

Most sectoral indices ended with modest gains. The “Others” group led the advance with a 1.42% rise, while other sectors saw changes below 1%.

The Banking index inched up 0.14%, Development Bank added 0.96%, Finance rose 0.12%, Hotels & Tourism increased 0.17%, Hydropower edged higher by 0.07%, Life Insurance gained 0.06%, and Trading improved by 0.11%.

On the other hand, four sectors closed in negative territory: Manufacturing & Processing slipped 0.68%, Microfinance declined 0.48%, while both Investment and Non-life Insurance eased by 0.10% each.
