NEPSE drops 0.72% to 2,741.97 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell by 0.72% on Tuesday, closing at 2,741.97 points.

After a double-digit gain on Monday, following losses of 38 points on Thursday and 31 points on Sunday, the upward momentum could not sustain.

Out of the companies traded on Tuesday, 29 saw their share prices rise, while 221 experienced declines.

The higher number of companies with falling prices contributed to the overall drop in the NEPSE index.

A total of 89,775 transactions were recorded, with 10,535,874 shares changing hands, amounting to Rs. 443.82 crore in total turnover.

This represents a decrease in trading value compared to Monday, when Rs. 510.57 crore worth of shares were traded.

All 13 sectoral sub-indices recorded losses, driving the NEPSE down by nearly 20 points.
