NCC explores stronger trade & investment ties with Vietnam

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has held a high-level discussion with Her Excellency Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to elevate bilateral trade, investment, and private sector collaboration between the two countries.
The meeting, held in Kathmandu in the presence of Vietnam’s Honorary Consul to Nepal and former NCC President Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, was attended by NCC President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, Immediate Past President Rajendra Malla, Senior Vice President Deepak Kumar Malhotra, Women’s Chamber President Urmila Shrestha, and other executives.
Discussions focused on expanding trade access, creating an investment-friendly environment, promoting industries and businesses, and exploring opportunities for mutual cooperation.
Marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam, the Chamber described the meeting as a significant step toward opening a new chapter of economic partnership.
Vice President Xuan emphasized the importance of closer coordination between the private sectors of both countries to facilitate bilateral trade and investment. She also encouraged NCC representatives to visit Vietnam and explore potential areas of cooperation with the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce.
Highlighting vast opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, tourism, energy, education, and information technology, the NCC reaffirmed its commitment to advancing practical programs and strengthening economic ties with Vietnam.
