KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic bus accident in Baitadi’s Purchaudi Municipality that claimed the lives of 13 people.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased, praying for their eternal peace, and conveyed the party’s and his personal sympathy to the bereaved families.
President Thapa also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and urged the government to ensure proper medical treatment for them.
The accident occurred on Thursday when a passenger bus, carrying a wedding procession, met with a fatal crash while traveling from Bhawani, Purchaudi-7 toward Bajhang.
The bus, numbered Sudurpaschim Province 02001 Kha 1119, overturned near Baadgaun bend in Purchaudi-7.
Eight people died on the spot, while five others succumbed to injuries at Dadeldhura Hospital.
Thirty-four passengers were injured, and they are receiving treatment in hospitals across Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, and Bajhang.
