National deaf 11-a-side football tournament ready to kick off
The tournament will feature eight teams from across Nepal, including one team from each of the seven provinces and an additional team from Bagmati Province.
KATHMANDU: Organized by Sundar Doka Sathi Sewa, a national-level deaf football tournament is set to take place on Jan 8–9 at Dasharath Stadium.
The tournament will feature eight teams from across Nepal, including one team from each of the seven provinces and an additional team from Bagmati Province.
Matches will be played in two halves of 30 minutes each with a 10-minute halftime break, making each game one hour long.
On the first day, four knockout matches will determine which teams advance to the semifinals.
The second day will host the semifinals and the final.
The champions will receive Rs 50,000, along with a trophy, medals, and certificates.
The runner-up and third-place teams will be awarded Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000, respectively.
Additionally, top players, including the best player, goalkeeper, defender, and coach, will receive Rs 5,000 each.
The tournament aims to identify talented deaf football players, create opportunities for national and international participation, boost players’ confidence, enhance football skills, and promote deaf sports in coordination with relevant government bodies.
