National Assembly session postponed
KATHMANDU: The National Assembly proceedings were about to begin, opposition members obstructed the session, prompting Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal to suspend the meeting for one hour.
Following the disruption, Speaker Dahal allowed Dr. Beduram Bhusal, a Member of Parliament from the CPN (Unified Socialist), to speak. Dr. Bhusal demanded that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli provide a response regarding the government’s decision to remove Kulman Ghising from his position before the session could continue.
Despite the obstruction, Speaker Dahal also gave time to Krishna Prasad Sitaula, a member of the Nepali Congress.
Sitaula urged for the session to proceed, highlighting that the bill presented by the government needed to be processed within 60 days.
He accused the opposition of deliberately obstructing the proceedings to delay the time frame.
Despite repeated calls from the Speaker to resume the session, the opposition MPs maintained their protest.
As a result, Speaker Dahal announced that the meeting would be postponed for one hour.
