Myanmar rice exports reach 305,821 tons in two months
During this period, the country earned approximately US$93 million from overseas shipments, the federation said.
KATHMANDU: Myanmar exported a total of 305,821 metric tons of rice and broken rice in the first two months of the current 2026/27 fiscal year, according to data released by the Myanmar Rice Federation.
The exports were recorded between April and May, the opening months of the new fiscal year that began in April.
During this period, the country earned approximately US$93 million from overseas shipments, the federation said.
However, the figures indicate a slight decline compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, when Myanmar exported over 400,000 tons of rice.
Rice and agricultural products remain a key source of foreign exchange earnings for Myanmar, with the country continuing to rely heavily on agricultural exports to support its external revenue base.
