MP Tamang slams govt for ignoring Karnali in budget
She highlighted that insufficient resources have been allocated for physical infrastructure, including roads, in Karnali, and urged the government to pay attention.
KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) MP Chhiring Lhamu Lama Tamang has criticized the government for neglecting Karnali Province in development budget allocations.
Speaking at Wednesday’s session of the House of Representatives, she said that while allocating the budget, the government appears to focus solely on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s home district of Jhapa, overlooking other regions.
She highlighted that insufficient resources have been allocated for physical infrastructure, including roads, in Karnali, and urged the government to pay attention.
Tamang also emphasized that a prosperous Nepal cannot be achieved without the development of Karnali. She noted that despite repeated calls from lawmakers, the government has failed to address these concerns.
Furthermore, she expressed concern that the Prime Minister’s views on Karnali’s development are based on incomplete information and demanded that he attend parliamentary sessions regularly.
