MP Rai regrets question to PM Shah, demands apology
MP Rai admitted that the Prime Minister’s response during yesterday’s session was controversial and unexpected, saying it has left him personally disappointed.
KATHMANDU: A Member of Parliament from the Shram Sanskriti Party, Arren Rai, has expressed deep regret over a parliamentary question he raised to Prime Minister Balendra Shah regarding the sensitive issue of Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura.
Speaking in the House, MP Rai admitted that the Prime Minister’s response during yesterday’s session was controversial and unexpected, saying it has left him personally disappointed.
He further stressed that simply removing the statement from the parliamentary record would not be enough, and demanded that the Prime Minister must appear in Parliament and issue a formal apology.
Referring to his own question, Rai said the answer provided by the Prime Minister was “misleading and factually questionable.” He added, “If I had known such a misleading and factless response would be given by the Prime Minister, I would never have asked that question. I feel deeply regretful.”
