Minister Gurung stresses need for postal agreements with labor-partner countries
Minister Gurung said expanding Nepal’s postal services to nations where Nepali citizens reside is crucial to strengthening trust and credibility in the institution.
KATHMANDU: Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has emphasized the necessity of signing postal service agreements with all countries that have labor pacts with Nepal.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Minister Gurung said expanding Nepal’s postal services to nations where Nepali citizens reside is crucial to strengthening trust and credibility in the institution.
He noted that ensuring postal arrangements in countries with large Nepali diaspora communities would help enhance service reliability. “Wherever there is a Nepali diaspora, postal services must be managed. Only then can we build confidence and improve the effectiveness of postal operations. If we succeed in this, the postal service can be developed into a strong institution,” he said.
Minister Gurung also assured that necessary steps would be taken in coordination with the Ministry of Finance to settle outstanding liabilities of the Postal Services Department.
