KATHMANDU: Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidhya Bhattarai has suggested the formulation of a law to establish the Shaheed Dashrathchand Health Science University as a standard university.
Minister Bhattarai made this suggestion during a clause-by-clause discussion on the bill in the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives on Monday.
She emphasized the need to make clear provisions in the bill regarding the academic calendar, human resource management, and the responsibilities of universities.
She also pointed out that the ongoing disputes and closures at universities have become increasingly problematic.
Minister Bhattarai stressed the importance of advancing the bill with solutions to these issues.
