Minister Adhikari promises transparency in agricultural grants
KATHMANDU: Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ramnath Adhikari has assured that, despite past irregularities in agricultural grants, there will now be full transparency in the process.
Speaking at a conference on agricultural investment organized by the Agricultural Enterprise Center of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Minister Adhikari stated that the Ministry has initiated the publication of grant details, ensuring that future agricultural grants will be transparent and publicly accessible.
Highlighting that one trillion five billion Nepali rupees have been spent on agricultural grants in the past five years, the Minister mentioned that the direct disbursement process, which was previously managed by the Ministry, has now been halted to curb irregularities.
Minister Adhikari emphasized the need for concerted efforts across all sectors to achieve self-sufficiency in agriculture, asserting that only through private sector involvement can the government’s agricultural goals be fully realized.
