Mayor of Gauradaha assaulted at home (video)

KATHMANDU: Gauradaha Municipality Mayor, Chhatrapati Subedi, was assaulted at his residence by local resident Bhishma Sitaula.

Mayor Subedi stated that Sitaula, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, came to his house and began a dispute, making various allegations.

When Subedi tried to calm him down, Sitaula allegedly physically attacked him.

“The person came to my home intoxicated and started a quarrel. When I tried to reason with him, he assaulted me,” Subedi said.

Sitoula has been taken into police custody, and authorities have confirmed that further investigation into the incident is underway.
