KATHMANDU: Lawmakers in the parliament meeting have urged the government to ensure the timely provision of fertilizer, seeds, and irrigation facilities to farmers.
During today’s zero-hour session, MPs emphasized the need for the government to address the ongoing shortage of fertilizers and seeds, which is causing hardship for farmers.
MPs Pooja Chaudhary, Renu Chand, and Vishnukumari Sapkota highlighted that farmers affected by drought and unable to plant on time should not have to struggle to obtain fertilizers and seeds, and called for government arrangements to prevent such difficulties.
They also stressed the importance of the government seriously creating employment opportunities for the youth within the country.
Since agriculture remains a key source of employment, they urged prioritizing modern agricultural techniques and commercial farming.
