KATHMANDU: Following the court’s order granting the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane from custody, his wife Nikita Paudel described the development as a triumph of justice but stressed that it does not mark the end of politically motivated revenge.

In a social media post, Paudel noted that Lamichhane became a target of retaliation because of his involvement in politics.

“Even the poison that I never touched in the face of deceitful schemes can still affect one,” she wrote, reflecting on the unimaginable suffering and challenges they endured over the past year.

She added that the recent court ruling closes a chapter of a conspiracy aimed at undermining growing public trust and causing personal distress.

Referring to Lamichhane’s time in custody as a “dungeon,” Paudel recounted the emotional void she felt during his absence while he faced retaliation with a smile, leaving her to carry the legal battle.

Though legal proceedings are still ongoing, Paudel said the court’s decision provides a significant relief. “Faith in God and trust in the legal process have brought us this far,” she wrote, emphasizing their resolve to turn this temporary relief into long-term strength.
