KATHMANDU: After long anticipation and widespread discussion, the Nepali romantic drama film Kumari has been released today (Friday) across cinema halls nationwide.

With nearly 200 shows on its opening day, Kumari has seen a strong turnout in early morning screenings, meeting expectations for a major box office opening.

Distributors reported that audiences in both Kathmandu Valley multiplexes and theaters in other regions have welcomed the film with remarkable enthusiasm.

Notably, viewers of the morning shows have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, praising the performances of the new actors as well as the director’s presentation.

Many audience members have called Kumari one of the finest additions to Nepali romantic cinema.

From early morning, the film’s team, along with the cast, engaged with audiences in theaters to receive direct reactions, which reportedly left the team highly encouraged.

Directed by Dinesh Raut, renowned for his expertise in romantic storytelling, the film artistically explores themes of love, human struggle, and familial conflict.

Kumari marks the debut of Avishesh Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari in lead roles.

The ensemble cast also features Ghanashyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Akankshya Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, and Mansha Sharma, among others.

The film is produced by Mahendra Adhikari, with Kedar Bhusal serving as executive producer.

On the technical front, Kumari boasts strong craftsmanship: the screenplay is by Bikash Subedi, cinematography by Susan Prajapati, and editing by Suprim Parajuli.

Poster and publicity design are credited to Royal Bhimsen.

The production team believes that Kumari, with its original storytelling and artistic presentation, will strongly resonate with audiences.
