KMC grants Rs 10M to Kirtipur Hospital for medical equipment

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has agreed to assist Kirtipur Hospital in purchasing essential medical equipment.

The agreement was signed under KMC’s annual program, with Acting Chief Sunita Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, and Education-Health Committee Chair Chinikaji Maharjan overseeing the process.

The signing was completed by KMC’s Health Department Chief Deepak Kumar KC on behalf of the city and Kirtipur Hospital Chair Dr. Bharat Kumar Pradhan Shrestha on behalf of the hospital.

Under the approved budget for the current fiscal year, KMC has allocated Rs 10 million for the purchase of medical equipment.

According to the agreement, the hospital will procure one anesthesia machine, one 250 kVA generator, and one 500 mA digital X-ray machine through a public procurement process.

The initiative aims to provide quality, accessible, and efficient healthcare services to both Kathmandu residents and patients visiting Kirtipur Hospital.

Acting Chief Dangol said the grant is intended to enhance hospital services, ensuring patients receive treatment in a smooth and professional manner.

Hospital Chair Dr. Shrestha added, “Treating patients with burns is challenging. We have always relied on KMC’s continuous support to make these treatments more manageable.”
