Khakhadehara festival being marked in Kailali, Kanchanpur

KANCHANPUR: The Rana Tharu community in Kailali and Kanchanpur district is marking their Khakhadehara festival today.

On the occasion of this festival, the Sudurpaschim State Government has announced a public holiday for today in the two districts, the Spokesperson of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law Bishnu Dutta Awasthi said.

The Khakhadehara festival is marked on the last day of Holi festival.

As per the tradition, the Rana Tharu observes Holi festival for 8 days in the names of Jiyudo (alive) Holi, Mareko (dead) Holi and Khakhadehara.
