NRNA reconstructs Valley Traffic Police Control Room

KATHMANDU: The Traffic Police Control Room in the Kathmandu Valley, which was set on fire during the Gen Z protests on Bhadra 23–24, has been fully rebuilt and handed over today.

The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) reconstructed the control room and officially handed it over in a ceremony attended by NRNA International Coordination Council Chairperson Mahesh Kumar Shrestha and Vice-Chairperson and Disaster Management Committee Chairperson Manoj Kumar Shrestha.

The facility was handed to the Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office and Additional Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki.

Chairperson Shrestha highlighted that all equipment and facilities were installed with long-term sustainability in mind.

Expressing gratitude, Chief Karki said, “We are grateful to the NRNA for reconstructing the Traffic Police Control Room that was damaged during the protests. We are pleased with this support and it is important to teach future generations not to damage public infrastructure.”
