Itahari: Identitarians begun violent protest over the naming of Koshi State

KATHMANDU: Identitarians have begun a violent protest over the naming of Koshi State.
On Friday morning, the Itahari-20 Ward Office was vandalized. According to Acting Ward President Tanuj Gurung, the ward office was vandalized while a discussion with those who had come to lock down was taking place.
Along with breaking the glass of the ward office, the crowds of identity supporters vandalized the digital board.
After vandalizing Itahari-20, the protestors have gone towards Itahari-19.
Similarly, the vehicle (Na 1 Jha 620) of Itahari-20, Tarahara police station was vandalized.
The protestors began vandalizing the police car as soon as they arrived at the ward office. A few police officers were also injured when stones were thrown at them.
Identity supporters have recently begun to participate in the activities of the movement, claiming that the state’s name should be preserved on the basis of identity.
Although the demands will be met through peaceful protests and negotiations, some have predicted that there will be material and human losses if identity supporters engage in violent protests.
