Indian national held in Pokhara with 1,000 LSD blotters

KATHMANDU: An Indian national has been arrested in Pokhara with a large quantity of the banned psychedelic drug LSD, police said.
According to the Kaski District Police Office, the arrest was made following a special tip-off indicating that narcotics had been ordered from Nigeria and sent to Nepal via international postal services.
Acting on the information, police intensified surveillance around the postal system in Pokhara Metropolitan City–Ward No. 7.
The suspect was apprehended from outside the local post office while attempting to receive the consignment.
Authorities said the individual, who had been staying at a hotel in the Lakeside area as a tourist, had used the hotel address to place the shipment.
Police confirmed that 1,000 LSD blotters were recovered from his possession.
Preliminary investigation suggests possible links to a wider international drug trafficking network.
Superintendent of Police Navin Karki said further investigation is underway to identify additional individuals involved and to trace the broader supply chain.
He added that efforts are being intensified to determine the scale of possible trafficking operations connected to the case.
Authorities also warned that attempts to smuggle illegal drugs into Nepal through international networks are increasing, and emphasized that strict monitoring and legal action will continue against such activities.
