KATHMANDU: The Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has endorsed a proposal to offer incentives for private schools that choose to operate under an educational trust framework.

Committee Chairperson Ammar Bahadur Thapa announced the approval of Clause 4 concerning the establishment and operation of private schools, incorporating feedback and suggestions regarding private investment in education.
Chairperson Thapa proposed that private schools opting to transition into public educational trusts should receive various incentives and exemptions as encouragement.
Lawmakers present at the meeting emphasized the need for private schools to function as service-oriented, public welfare institutions, operating on a not-for-profit basis.
