KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has still not commenced, even though it was scheduled for 1 PM.

The session has already been delayed by more than an hour due to ongoing protests by opposition parties.

Opposition lawmakers have decided not to allow today’s parliamentary proceedings, strongly objecting to the recent remarks made by Prime Minister Balen Shah.

They have concluded that his statement was “anti-national” and have demanded a formal apology on the floor of the House.

They are also insisting that the controversial remarks be removed from the parliamentary record before allowing any further business to proceed.

Meanwhile, the opposition alleges that yesterday’s House session was pushed through forcefully despite strong objections to the parliamentary procedure.

Even as lawmakers protested from the well of the House, the Speaker proceeded with the session, and a bill was passed around 10 PM on a majority basis.

The political deadlock continues, with no immediate sign of compromise, leaving today’s parliamentary agenda in uncertainty.
