KATHMANDU: The Indian play ‘Home in a Suitcase’ was staged on Saturday, the second day of the Tri-Nation Theatre Festival being held at Kantipur Theatre under the organization of Nepal Academy of Music and Drama.

The festival began on Friday (May 8) and has brought together theatrical productions from different countries, highlighting diverse stories and artistic expressions.

Presented by The Creative Art Academy, the play was created by Ramanjit Kaur and Ruhani Singh. Through the story of 24-year-old Tarini, who has grown up across multiple cities, the production raises a deeply reflective question: “Where does home truly exist?”

Home in a Suitcase explores themes of home, identity and migration through an emotional and thought-provoking narrative.

The play features a powerful solo performance by Indian theatre artist Ruhani Singh, who brings memories, displacement and the search for belonging vividly to life through physical theatre, storytelling and striking visual presentation.

The production was directed by Ramanjit Kaur, while lighting design was handled by Daulat Vaid.

The theatre festival will continue until May 10. On the final day, the Indian play Shakuni will be staged.
