KATHMANDU: The High Court Patan has ordered the submission of original documents from the Central Film Censorship Committee related to the film ‘Lalibazar’.

According to court information officer Govinda Prasad Koirala, the court issued the order on Tuesday, directing the submission of the official records that granted screening approval.

The case has been scheduled for further hearing on Wednesday.

Previously, on April 28, the court had issued an interim order preventing the film’s screening until May 5.

The petition was filed by Roshi Nepali from the Wadi community, raising objections over the use of certain words in the film.

Directed by Yam Thapa and produced under Shatkon Arts, the film was set for release on May 1.

It is said to focus on the struggles of women from the Wadi community.
