KATHMANDU: The grand premiere of the upcoming Nepali film Malati Mangale, set for nationwide release this Friday, was successfully held with high enthusiasm and strong attendance from distinguished guests, media personnel, and invited audiences. The premiere screening received overwhelmingly positive reactions, with viewers praising both its engaging narrative and compelling cinematic execution, which reportedly kept the audience fully immersed for 2 hours and 38 minutes.

Audience members and attendees highlighted the film’s strong storytelling approach and its effective visual presentation. The movie’s blend of emotional depth and comedy was particularly appreciated, with many noting that it maintained a consistent grip on viewers throughout the screening.

Performances by the cast have emerged as a major highlight. Actor Bijay Baral once again drew widespread praise for his natural and convincing acting style, continuing his reputation as one of Nepal’s most dependable performers. Actress Barsha Raut was widely acclaimed for what many described as the most impactful performance of her career to date, earning strong appreciation from both audiences and critics alike. Similarly, comedian-turned-actor Maxam Gaudel made a notable impression on the big screen, with his performance being regarded as one of the film’s key strengths.

Among the prominent attendees at the premiere was Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, who shared a positive review of the film. He remarked that the movie effectively presents meaningful Nepali stories and expressed that he was fully engaged throughout the screening without any sense of boredom. He stated that the film successfully blends comedy and emotion, while also appreciating the performances and dialogues. Lamichhane further noted that although the director is relatively new, the film does not feel like a debut effort, praising its overall execution.

Veteran actor Madan Krishna Shrestha also expressed strong appreciation for the film after watching it. The premiere was attended by several well-known personalities including Krishna Malla, Sharmila Malla, Kiran KC, Yam Baral, and Sandeep Chhetri, along with members of the film unit, media representatives, artists, and other distinguished guests from the entertainment industry. The event witnessed a large and influential gathering, all of whom responded positively to the film.

Malati Mangale is produced under the banner of Rani Films in collaboration with Yuni Entertainment. The story has been written by director Praku Pandey himself, while the screenplay and dialogues are by Sanyog Guragai. The film features Bijay Baral, Barsha Raut, and Mexam Gaudel in lead roles, alongside Prakash Ghimire, Sarita Giri, Narin Thapa, Mansu Sapkota, Sushma Niraula, Sunil Tamang, and others in significant roles.

Sagar Gyawali serves as the executive producer, while Baboo Subedi, Rabin Shrestha, Vedana Karmacharya, Padmavati Gurung, Swikriti Basnet, and Milan Bajgain are co-producers. The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Mahesh Poudel, editor Romy Mozes, colorist Krishna Bhandari, background score composer Sujil Karmacharya, and sound designer Dikkesh Khadgi. The film will be distributed nationwide by RR Films and is scheduled for theatrical release this Friday across Nepal.
