Govt projects 7% economic growth, inflation to stay within 6%
He said that the Nepal Rastra Bank will issue a monetary policy aligned with the budget to help facilitate its implementation and maintain macroeconomic stability.
KATHMANDU: The government has projected an economic growth rate of 7 percent for the upcoming fiscal year.
Presenting the national budget on Friday, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle expressed confidence that the target is achievable, supported by effective implementation of fiscal policies and coordination with monetary policy.
He said that the Nepal Rastra Bank will issue a monetary policy aligned with the budget to help facilitate its implementation and maintain macroeconomic stability.
“I believe the upcoming fiscal year will achieve 7 percent economic growth while keeping inflation within 6 percent. A monetary policy will be issued by Nepal Rastra Bank in coordination with the budget to support the implementation of announced reforms and programs,” Wagle said.
The finance minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to keeping inflation, measured by the consumer price index, within the 6 percent limit in the next fiscal year.
