KATHMANDU: Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary stated that the government is prioritizing youth leadership development, skill enhancement, and job creation.
Speaking at a program on International Youth Day held Tuesday, he said the government is working to create a youth-friendly investment environment and to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through supportive policies and legal frameworks, aiming to brighten the future of youth within the country.
He noted that youth, who make up about 42 percent of the total population, have shown strong interest in innovation despite facing difficult circumstances.
Highlighting the commendable commitment and participation of youth in awareness campaigns against climate change during pandemics and natural disasters, as well as in technology-based new inventions, he emphasized their vital role.
Referring to Nepal’s history, he said significant changes have been driven by the active involvement of youth, describing them as the courage of history, partners of the present, and guardians of the future.
The minister added that the government has embraced the core principle that “healthy, diligent, and entrepreneurial youth are essential for a prosperous nation,” and called for collective cooperation to harness youth potential for national development.
