Govt allocates Rs 650 million for Industrial Infrastructure Development

KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 650 million for industrial infrastructure development in the upcoming fiscal year, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced while presenting the national budget in a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Friday.

As part of efforts to promote cleaner and more energy-efficient industries, the government plans to replace traditional boilers used by industrial enterprises with electric boilers.

Concessional loans will be provided to support industries undertaking the transition.

The finance minister also announced a separate allocation of Rs 220 million to help convert 100 industries to electric or bio-based boiler systems, a move aimed at reducing fossil fuel dependence and advancing green industrialization.
