KATHMANDU: Gold prices in the Nepali market have reached a new record.
On Thursday, the price of Chhapawal gold soared to Rs 239,200 per tola, according to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.
This marks an increase of Rs 1,200 from Wednesday’s rate of Rs 238,000 per tola.
Silver prices also saw a significant rise. While silver traded at Rs 2,955 per tola on Wednesday, it jumped to Rs 3,035 per tola on Thursday.
Analysts attribute the continuous rise in gold prices to geopolitical tensions, global economic instability, and the weakening of the US dollar.
