Gen Z protest turns tense as demonstrators enter parliament

KATHMANDU: The Gen Z-led protest in Kathmandu has taken a tense turn, with some demonstrators breaking through police barricades and entering the Parliament premises.

Eyewitnesses report that the protesters climbed over the main gate to gain access to the building.

Despite efforts by security personnel to stop them, the crowd’s pressure made it difficult to control the situation.

Police have resorted to using tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.

The Parliament area remains tense, with additional security forces deployed to manage the situation.
