Gandaki defeats Karnali by four wickets in PM Cup

KATHMANDU: Gandaki Province secured a four-wicket victory over Karnali Province in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament held in Dang today.

Batting first after losing the toss at Lamahi Cricket Ground, Karnali was bowled out for just 91 runs in 27.2 overs.

In reply, Gandaki chased down the 92-run target in 29.1 overs, losing six wickets.

Deepak Dumre led Gandaki’s run chase with an unbeaten half-century, scoring 50 runs off 78 balls, including seven fours. Sujan Gautam remained unbeaten on 22 runs.

For Karnali, Diwan Pun delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking three wickets while conceding only 13 runs in his 10-over spell, including five maiden overs.

Dipendra Rawat claimed two wickets, while Yunis Thakuri took one.

Earlier, Karnali’s batting struggled, with Bipin Shahi (20), Arjun Gharti (17), Bipin Rawal (15), and Himanshu Shahi (12) making notable contributions.

Gandaki’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Chandra Paudel, Subash Bhandari, and Bipin Khatri picking up two each, while Sandeep Parajuli and Amrit Gurung took one apiece.
