At Philadelphia Stadium, France extended their lead to three goals in the 66th minute when Ousmane Dembélé found the back of the net. Earlier, captain Kylian Mbappé had put the French side in control with goals in the 14th and 54th minutes.
The convincing win marked France’s second consecutive victory of the tournament, ensuring their qualification for the Round of 32 before the completion of the group stage.
For Iraq, the defeat leaves their World Cup hopes hanging by a thread. After suffering another loss, they now face a must-win clash against Senegal in their final group-stage match to keep their chances of advancing alive.
