KATHMANDU: Former Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha has emphasized the need to integrate national and international judicial systems to ensure effective legal governance.
Speaking at an event organized by Nepal Law Society in Kathmandu, he stated that it is essential for the national and international justice systems to work together in harmony.
Shrestha highlighted that focusing solely on the national “rule of law” is insufficient to properly address activities occurring beyond the country’s borders.
He further stressed that without aligning with the international legal framework, the national judiciary cannot function effectively.
According to him, it is necessary to adopt the international legal governance system to implement treaties and agreements made with the global community.
