KATHMANDU: The shooting of the upcoming film “Zooba” has officially begun, with its opening schedule launched in Sarlahi following a ceremonial muhurat on Wednesday.

Produced under the banner of Aastra Films, the project will be shot across multiple locations, including Sarlahi, Kathmandu, and Rajasthan, India.

The production team has planned an extensive 75-day shooting schedule, indicating a large-scale cinematic vision aimed at delivering a strong visual and narrative experience.

The film features popular actor Saugat Malla in the lead role. It is written and directed by Prakash Karan, while the screenplay is penned by Barsha Paudel, who also serves as a creative producer alongside the director.

Actress Sophie Dharel will make her acting debut through this film. She stars alongside Saugat Malla and Sudhan Pokharel, who plays a key role. This marks Pokharel’s third film appearance, though his first in a lead role.

Produced by Rock Castle Studio, “Zooba” had earlier generated curiosity with the release of three character posters. One featured Saugat Malla acknowledging a camera in a symbolic gesture, while another showed him in a vintage setup speaking on a landline phone alongside Sophie Dharel, hinting at a storyline possibly set two decades in the past.

A third poster introduced Sudhan Pokharel’s character as a menacing antagonist, depicted smoking a cigar, reinforcing his negative role.

Despite growing anticipation, the production team has remained tight-lipped about the full storyline and additional cast details, keeping much of the film under wraps for now.
