Dhurandhar 2 teaser disappoints fans with recycled scenes
Fans of the spy thriller, starring Ranveer Singh, have eagerly awaited the continuation of the high-octane saga.
KATHMANDU: The second installment of the record-breaking Bollywood film Dhurandhar is set to hit theatres on March 19.
Titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the film will be released simultaneously in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada.
The action-packed teaser of the sequel was unveiled on Tuesday, clearly indicating that the story continues its revenge-driven narrative against a Pakistani gangster.
The teaser highlights actor Ranveer Singh in two distinct looks, portraying an Indian spy who enters Pakistan and faces intense challenges, risks, and emotional conflict fueled by vengeance.
However, the teaser has received mixed reactions on social media.
Many viewers criticised it for heavily reusing visuals from the first film Dhurandhar, stating that it failed to offer a fresh cinematic experience.
As a result, the teaser has been widely trolled online, despite the film’s strong franchise value.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 is also set for a major box office clash with Toxic, starring Kannada superstar Yash.
Following the massive global buzz generated by Toxic’s teaser, there were speculations that the makers of Dhurandhar 2 might postpone its release
However, the producers have taken a bold step by sticking to the same release date, embracing a high-stakes box office battle.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues to run in theatres across India and Nepal.
The film has already grossed over Rs 105 million in Nepal, while its net collection in India stands at nearly INR 9 billion.
This massive success has significantly raised expectations—and pressure—for the sequel.
