‘Dallele Entry Maryo’ release postponed after Sagar Lamsal arrest
The film, originally scheduled to premiere on Chaitra 27 (March 10), will now be delayed indefinitely.
KATHMANDU: The release of the much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Dallele Entry Maryo’ has been postponed after its lead actor, Sagar Lamsal, was arrested over rape allegations.
The film, originally scheduled to premiere on Chaitra 27 (April 10), will now be delayed indefinitely.
Director Raju Giri confirmed the postponement on social media, writing, “It seems this controversy arose just as the film was about to release. Let justice be served to the guilty, and may the innocent not suffer. But the public and God are there for the victims.”
The film is directed by Raju Giri, with screenplay and dialogues by Laxman Subedi, who has previously written and directed over half a dozen films.
Alongside Sagar Lamsal, the cast includes Roshni Khadka, Ramesh Budhathoki, Hemant Budhathoki, Rabindra Jha, Kailash Rawat, Bishal Pahari, Dhurva Koirala, Sabitra Chiluwal, Asha Paudel, Laxminath Timilsina, Osin Bhattarai, Mohankrishna Shrestha, Suchendra Pariyar, Ramhari Khadka, Ramesh Adhikari, Madhav Khanal, Sushma KC, and Nabaraj Giri. The director himself also appears on screen. Child actors include Kangana Giri, Ronish Khadka, and Kajal Giri.
The production team features Binayaraj Paudel as chief assistant director, Shyam Tamang as cinematographer, Suman Kafle handling production management, and Umesh Kumar Basnet on story. Producers include Sabitra Chiluwal, Aashik Basnet, Aadarsh Basnet, Nirmala Basnet, and Sarita Puri Giri.
