KATHMANDU: Kathmandu authorities have imposed a curfew following clashes at the Federal Parliament premises, as protesters from the Gen Z movement began dispersing.

The demonstration, which started peacefully at Maitighar Mandala, escalated upon reaching Baneshwor, where protesters breached restricted zones and entered the parliament grounds.

The situation spiraled out of control, prompting the administration to enforce an immediate curfew.

Protesters are now moving toward areas including Ratna Rajya School, Thapathali, and Min Bhawan Campus, where security forces have tightened surveillance.

Earlier, demonstrators set fire at Gate 2 of the Parliament building, further complicating the situation. Additional security personnel have been deployed to regain control.
