KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to expand and better organize its central office complex in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
To facilitate this, the party will purchase a 19-aana plot of land along with a three-story building located in front of the existing office.
According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the land and building, owned by Lalitpur resident Amirman Amatya, were agreed to be bought by the Congress central office, with the contract signed on Ashad 11.
The agreement, involving a deposit of Rs 5 million and a commitment to transfer ownership within one year, was signed in the presence of General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwaprakesh Sharma, and Treasurer Umesh Shrestha.
The total purchase cost of Rs 130 million will be fully covered through levies from various party levels and contributions from well-wishers, fostering a sense of collective ownership.
