Communication Minister: Bill introduced after obstacles to ensuring good governance
Minister Gurung responded to raised questions, emphasizing that opposition parties have made it their duty to oppose the government's positive initiatives, asserting that there is no remedy for such behavior.
KATHMANDU: Communications and Information Technology Minister, Prithvi Subba Gurung, stated that existing laws have created obstacles to maintaining good governance in Nepal, which is why the government has introduced the “Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery Bill.”
During a theoretical discussion on the bill at the National Assembly on Sunday, Minister Gurung responded to raised questions, emphasizing that opposition parties have made it their duty to oppose the government’s positive initiatives, asserting that there is no remedy for such behavior.
He also pointed out the importance of understanding the vast number of issues still existing within the legal framework, even though the government has already amended several laws.
In addition, he addressed the controversy regarding the name change of Yogmaya University, stating that the ruling party sees it as an insignificant issue, comparing it to “a flower on top of a bud and fragrance on top of gold.”
The bill proposes to change the name of Yogmaya Ayurvedic University to Vidushi Yogmaya Himalayan Ayurvedic University.
