Chelsea beat Cardiff 3-1 to reach League Cup semifinals

KATHMANDU: Chelsea defeated Cardiff City 3-1 to become the first team to secure a spot in the League Cup semifinals.

After a slow start due to multiple squad changes following Saturday’s win over Everton, Chelsea’s performance improved in the second half with decisive contributions from Alehandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto.

Garnacho opened the scoring in the 57th minute, before Cardiff’s David Turnbull equalized in the 75th.

Pedro restored Chelsea’s lead in the 83rd minute, and Garnacho added a second goal in injury time, sealing a 3-1 victory.
