KATHMANDU: Chaudhary Group (CG), Nepal’s largest business conglomerate, has faced unprecedented attacks as protests demanding accountability turned violent.

What began as a movement for change reportedly devolved into destruction by external agitators, leaving the company’s properties and leadership under siege.

According to reports, the CG Chair and his family were directly targeted.

Multiple homes were attacked and set on fire, factories and offices were damaged, and showrooms were looted—erasing decades of effort, investment, and dedication within hours.

Despite the chaos, CG employees and managers displayed extraordinary courage. Staff worked tirelessly to protect assets, maintain operations, and serve customers amid fires and destruction. The company lauded these efforts as a testament to CG’s resilience and unity.

In a statement, the leadership said, “They may burn our buildings, but they cannot burn our dreams. They may loot our showrooms, but they cannot loot our values. We are hurt, but not broken.”

CG reaffirmed its commitment to Nepal, emphasizing its role as one of the country’s largest employers, taxpayers, and nation-builders. The company pledged to rebuild stronger, implement new systems, and continue contributing to the nation’s development.

“History will not remember the flames that consumed us,” the statement read, “but how we emerged—stronger, prouder, and more united than ever.”
