Biratnagar Kings unveil ‘Purbeli Raja’ as new NPL mascot

KATHMANDU: Biratnagar Kings have unveiled their new mascot, ‘Purbeli Raja’, ahead of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The team says the mascot embodies the deep spirit of both the team and the eastern region it represents.
The Arna (wild buffalo), a native species of the Koshi region currently facing endangerment, inspires the mascot.
“The presence of Arna will remind fans of strength, beauty, and determination—qualities shared by both the mascot and the team,” Biratnagar Kings stated in a press release on Sunday.
National team player Sandeep Lamichhane will be the team’s marquee player.
The NPL, featuring eight teams, is set to begin on Nov 17.
