KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah attended the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Friday as the government prepared to present the upcoming fiscal year budget.

His presence comes after a prolonged absence of 18 days from parliamentary proceedings, during which opposition parties had repeatedly questioned his engagement in the House.

Shah, who had earlier walked out during President Ram Chandra Paudel’s policy and programme address, reappeared in the House as lawmakers gathered to listen to the budget presentation.

The return marks a notable political moment amid ongoing tensions between ruling and opposition benches over parliamentary attendance and accountability.
